Air Peace Adds New Abuja-London Routes, Expands Nigeria-UK Connectivity

Nigeria’s own airline, Air Peace, is launching two new direct routes between Abuja and London, set to begin October 26, 2025. This move expands the carrier’s footprint in international travel and provides more options for flyers across Nigeria.

What’s New

  • Air Peace will begin flying direct from Abuja (ABV) to London Heathrow (LHR).

  • Within 48 hours of that launch, it will also introduce Abuja to London Gatwick (LGW).

  • These additions mean Air Peace will offer three UK destinations in total, joining the existing Lagos-to-London Gatwick service.

Fleet & Fare Highlights

  • The airline will use its wide-body Boeing 777-200ER aircraft for the new Abuja-UK flights, boosting its capacity on international routes.

  • Round-trip fares for these new routes start at around ₦1,000,000, which is competitive in comparison to other airlines flying between Nigeria and the UK.

Connectivity & Passenger Benefits

  • The new routes will allow travellers from many Nigerian cities — including Lagos, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Kano, Asaba, and others — to fly to London via Abuja without multiple bookings or transfers.

  • Premium cabin experiences are promised, with added comforts and in-flight service enhancements for the UK flights.

Strategic Significance

  • Air Peace’s expansion comes after successful efforts by the Nigerian government to secure slots at Heathrow, a highly competitive and capacity-constrained airport.

  • The move strengthens Nigeria’s aviation industry, creating more direct international options, reducing travel time and cost for many passengers.
