Cambodia has officially entered a new era of border control by introducing the digital v-Pass, which replaces traditional passport stamps at all airports and seaports from July 1, 2025.
The v-Pass is automatically issued after travelers pass through immigration and serves as the official proof of entry and stay in Cambodia. Instead of ink stamps or QR stickers, travelers now receive a digital document via email, through the Cambodia e-Arrival app, or on the official site arrival.gov.kh.
How It Works
-
On Arrival: Present your passport and visa to immigration. Your entry is logged digitally, and a v-Pass is issued.
-
During Your Stay: Authorities may request to see your v-Pass. Both digital and printed copies are valid, and it shows your permitted length of stay.
-
On Departure: Hand over your passport at immigration. Your exit is digitally recorded — no stamps required.
Why the Switch?
The Cambodian government says the new system enhances security, efficiency, and convenience, while also reducing queues and paperwork. It reflects a global shift toward digital border management and paperless travel.
What Travelers Should Remember
